How To Use Fish Compost

Improving Soil Quality: On gardens, new lawns, ect... apply 1 to 3 in.(3 to 8 cm.) depending on the quality of the existing soil. Mix into the top 3 or 4 in.(8 to 10 cm.). Do not mix any deeper as compost is most effective near the surface where it has access to oxygen.

Potted Plants: Remove as much soil as possible from the top of the pot without damaging the roots and replace with fish compost.

Enhancing Potted Mixes: Adding 1 part figh compost to 2 parts soil mix and blend thoroughly.

Established Lawns: Cover the lawn lightly with about 1/4 to 1/2in.(1 to 1 1/2cm.). Rake the compost in and water thoroughly. This can be repeated serveral times as the grass grows into the compost.
